It has been discerned that choristers in numerous Pentecostal churches in Nigeria are infusing taste of Hip-Hop and Fuji tunes into their applaud and adoration lyrics. Some churches even have choreography team who focuses in hip-hop steps. Is it right, correct or not really a sin?
remarks:
Havialh93: Is there a specific type of melodies that is presumed to be firmly for applaud and adoration only? notify South Africans to stop singing Kwaito or whatever in places of worship, notify south Americans to stop vocalising Samba pieces of music as applaud worship.
It all has to do with the heart. You might not vocalise hip hop or Fuji, but yet, your heart is unclean, but somebody singing hip jump, and does it with the whole of his heart, with open minds, gets his blessings and departs.
Rotlan: Personally, I glimpse nothing incorrect as long as the lyrics are glorifying God. At least the Yoruba use “Ewi” which was being utilised in worshiping their kings and customary deities to adoration in church today and no one has increased an objection. But what I actually have matters with is the makosa, azonto etc being utilised. But all the same, it’s just my own personal attitude.
James Richard: if constituents of a specific church vocalise and promenade alanta, Fuji, hip burst, kunkere, awilo, akpala and the rest, as long as God almighty is being worshiped, applauded, adored and glorified, my friend, it is good to go. My bretheren, let’s join them in no time to promenade before stones proceed take your place.
