It is also a talent project that
encompasses all genre of music in Africa.
Most, if not all, talent competitions
produce one winner with a style of music,but this project will have 5
different winners from 5 genre of music i.e Highlife/Afrobeat, Gospel ,Reggae,
Juju, Fuji, Hip-Hop/R & B
with the intention to creating a wider
platform for these styles of music.
The project started this year around june 2013. It had Ojb jazreel as the official producer on the project before his ailment as well as Djtee as official video director with promo running on tv stations.
Mic check Africa has organised activation parties in 3 local government to encourage d upcoming artistes in a bid to form a close interaction with these acts as well create more awareness around the state. Legends such as Pa victor Olaiya,Sule Alao Malaika,Dj Tee,Art quake and other top music producers to mention a few have all endorsed this event and have decided to be a part of this wonderful initiative.
The entertainment industry in Nigeria seems to be clogged up with genre such as Hiphop, Afropop and RandB to an extent thereby relegating the others.
